In Florida, a nice pool can add a lot to your property value! But what if the pool hasn’t been opened in 10 years? What if it’s more of a frog pond than a pool? The first thing we look for is whether the pool is holding water. If it is, chances are it can be cleaned and repaired. If it’s not holding water, we need to determine whether it’s from normal evaporation, purposefully being partially drained (or not completely filled), or if there is a bigger issue going on. Most just need a good cleaning, recoating, and lots of pool chemicals to get them up and running again.
Here are some pools we’ve changed from Frog Ponds back into inviting pools:
Another frog pond transformation. Survey revealed this pool was on a county easement, which delayed closing 3 months to go through all the county paperwork and committees. Whew! Easement granted!
The neighbors actually referred to this one as “The Frog Pond.” They had to adjust to sleeping without frog songs again!
We forgot Before photos at this house, but the landscaping was beautiful…at one time. Now it had locusts making themselves at home! (Photo is actual locust on the property…there were many.) It was a big project to tidy up the landscaping again. Chuck also used his dive gear to make a small repair at the drain.
The MUCK HOLE transformed into an INVITING OASIS. This pool hadn’t been opened for more than 10 years.
